1. What is the purpose of final vehicle inspection?

Final vehicle inspection ensures that the completely assembled vehicle meets defined quality, functional, appearance, safety, and regulatory requirements before it is released.

The inspection may cover areas such as body fit and finish, interior, electrical functions, vehicle operation, noise, leakage, warning indicators, and other customer-critical characteristics.

The objective is to prevent defective vehicles from moving to the customer or downstream delivery process.

2. How would you handle a vehicle quality defect found on the production line?

First, I would contain the affected vehicles to prevent further movement of potentially defective units.

Then I would verify the defect against the inspection standard, identify the affected lot or production period, and investigate the root cause using appropriate quality tools.

After corrective action is implemented, I would verify its effectiveness and ensure the relevant process documentation or inspection standard is updated if required.

3. What is the difference between line quality and final inspection?

Line quality focuses on preventing and controlling defects during the manufacturing process.

Final inspection verifies the completed vehicle before release.

A strong quality system should not depend only on final inspection. The goal should be to build quality into each manufacturing process so that defects are detected and prevented as early as possible.

4. How do you perform Root Cause Analysis?

I first define the problem clearly using facts and data.

Then I use tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto Analysis, process investigation, and data stratification to identify the actual root cause.

After identifying the root cause, I implement corrective action and verify whether the problem has been permanently eliminated.

5. What are the 7 QC Tools?

The commonly used 7 QC Tools are:
