We are currently hiring for the position of Senior Engineer – HR (ER/IR) for our Pune – Chakan location. This role is ideal for a proactive, disciplined, and people-centric professional who takes ownership of maintaining harmony, legal compliance, and operational excellence in a dynamic industrial environment.


🔹 Position Overview

  • Role: Senior Engineer – HR (Employee Relations / Industrial Relations)

  • Department: Human Resource – ER/IR

  • Experience Required: 5+ Years

  • Location: Pune – Chakan

This is a pivotal position where you will directly contribute to the development of a positive industrial climate, regulatory compliance, and end-to-end HR operations.


🔹 Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure 100% adherence to all statutory and legal norms, with zero deviation.

  • Maintain full compliance with labor laws, factory acts, and regulatory requirements as per state and central guidelines.

  • Foster a harmonious, productive, and congenial workplace environment across teams and shopfloor operations.

  • Address employee grievances professionally and maintain transparent communication to build healthy employee relations.

  • Lead the execution and monitoring of HR policies and ensure timely implementation across levels.

  • Achieve zero non-compliance (NC) during statutory, legal, or internal audits.

  • Oversee plant administration, including facilities, infrastructure, security, and housekeeping management.

  • Manage vendor operations, contract labor stakeholders, internal and external authorities, and third-party agencies.

  • Prepare, update, and maintain monthly HRMIS reports ensuring data accuracy for analytics and management decisions.

  • Lead annual budgeting for the HR function and ensure adherence throughout the financial year.

A: Employee Relations focuses on building trust, resolving grievances, improving communication, and creating a positive and productive work environment that aligns employee needs with company goals.


2️⃣ Q: How do you handle an employee grievance that has the potential to escalate?
A: I follow a structured process — listen carefully, document the issue, discuss with stakeholders, propose a fair solution, communicate timelines, and follow up until closure, ensuring transparency throughout.

A: Regular audits, updating statutory registers, monitoring deadlines for submissions, training for supervisors, vendor compliance tracking, and staying updated with regulatory changes.

A: Through data-backed discussions, active listening, understanding interests (not just demands), maintaining calm communication, involving leadership when required, and aiming for a win-win settlement.

A: HRMIS is a Human Resource Management Information System that helps track workforce, payroll, attendance, and performance. Accurate data ensures correct decisions, better compliance, and cost control.


7️⃣ Q: How do you ensure vendor and contract workforce compliance?
A: By tracking contractor onboarding documents, PF/ESI compliance, wages as per minimum wages act, attendance, safety training, and monthly contractor audits.


8️⃣ Q: What strategies do you use for improving employee engagement?
A: Feedback surveys, open communication forums, recognition programs, skill development initiatives, and celebrating achievements.


9️⃣ Q: What is your approach to maintaining a harmonious workplace?
A: Promote respect, listen to employees, act quickly on issues, maintain fairness in policies, training supervisors, and building a culture of trust.


🔟 Q: How do you manage HR budgeting and cost control throughout the year?
A: Through forecasting, monitoring expenses monthly, vendor negotiation, manpower planning, overtime control, and periodic reviews aligned with business goals.
