Gravton Motors is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer β R&D Prototype & Power Train to strengthen our EV development team. If you have strong expertise in prototype quality control, validation, and automotive standards, we invite you to apply.
π§ Key Responsibilities
- Handle quality assurance activities for R&D and prototype builds
- Conduct inspection, validation, and testing of prototype components
- Implement quality control processes during New Product Development (NPD)
- Perform Root Cause Analysis and drive Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Coordinate with Design, Production, and Supplier Quality teams
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and documentation
π― Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma / Bachelorβs in Mechanical / Production / Automobile Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering
- Experience in Prototype / R&D projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of Quality Tools (7 QC Tools, FMEA, PPAP, Control Plan, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in automotive quality standards and audits

Answer:
I have managed quality checks during prototype builds, including dimensional inspection, fitment validation, and functional testing. I ensured design intent compliance and documented deviations for corrective action.
2. How do you perform Root Cause Analysis?
Answer:
I use tools like 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Analysis. After identifying root causes, I implement corrective and preventive measures and validate effectiveness.
3. Explain your experience with FMEA.
Answer:
I prepare and update DFMEA/PFMEA during new product development to identify potential failure modes, assess RPN, and implement mitigation actions before mass production.
4. What is PPAP and why is it important?
Answer:
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) ensures suppliers understand engineering requirements and can consistently produce parts meeting specifications before mass production.
5. How do you ensure compliance with automotive quality standards?
Answer:
By maintaining documentation such as Control Plans, SOPs, Inspection Reports, and ensuring process adherence to IATF/ISO standards.
