Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced R&D Manager to lead the automotive product development division at our Greater Noida facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in plastic moulding, sheet metal development, and engineering design, with a proven ability to take concepts from idea to industrialization.

This position plays a critical role in leading cross-functional design, validation, and tooling activities, ensuring that all product development aligns with customer requirements, quality standards, and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Lead R&D Operations – Manage and guide the R&D team in developing new automotive components and improving existing products using plastic moulding and sheet metal technologies.
2️⃣ New Product Development (NPD) – Drive end-to-end NPD activities including concept design, feasibility study, prototyping, DFMEA, DVP, and validation.
3️⃣ Project Management – Oversee multiple design and development projects, ensuring timely completion of milestones, technical reviews, and customer approvals.
4️⃣ Tooling & Vendor Coordination – Work closely with tool designers, mould vendors, and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely tooling development.
5️⃣ Design & CAD Modelling – Supervise design engineers using CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks for 3D/2D model development, GD&T application, and tolerance analysis.
6️⃣ Cross-Functional Collaboration – Liaise with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Marketing teams to ensure smooth product launch and customer satisfaction.
7️⃣ Technical Documentation – Review and approve design documents, BOMs, design change records, and validation reports as per APQP & PPAP requirements.
8️⃣ Compliance & Quality Assurance – Ensure all designs comply with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
9️⃣ Innovation & Continuous Improvement – Drive innovation in material selection, design optimization, and cost reduction without compromising performance.
🔟 Customer Interface – Coordinate directly with OEM design teams for project discussions, technical clarifications, and design reviews.

Educational Qualification & Skills

🎓 Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related discipline.

💡 Experience & Technical Skills:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive plastic moulding and sheet metal product design/development.
• Strong knowledge of DFMEA, DVP, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and 3D CAD tools (CATIA/NX).
• Hands-on experience in tool development, vendor management, and validation testing.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Understanding of APQP, PPAP, and automotive documentation systems.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering reporting tools.
