As part of its ongoing supplier quality excellence initiative, Maruti is hiring skilled professionals for the position of Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Audit of Quality Management Systems (QMS) at Supplier End. This is a great opportunity to work directly with India’s most advanced automotive ecosystem and lead supplier process audits that strengthen the quality foundation across the supply chain.


Position Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing, auditing, and improving Quality Management Systems (QMS) at supplier facilities. This role involves both technical and strategic responsibilities, combining process audits, supplier capability evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality maturity.

You will play a vital role in ensuring that suppliers align with Maruti Suzuki’s stringent QMS standards, contributing to robust manufacturing quality, reduced defects, and enhanced product reliability.


Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier QMS Audit & Assessment

  • Plan, schedule, and execute audits of suppliers’ Quality Management Systems (QMS) as per ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.

  • Identify gaps, deviations, and weak areas in supplier QMS and suggest corrective actions.

2. Supplier Development & Guidance

  • Guide suppliers to strengthen their QMS based on automotive best practices.

  • Support suppliers in implementing corrective and preventive actions, re-assessment, and verification of improvements.

3. Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Organize and conduct training sessions on QMS, process capability, SPC, and problem-solving methodologies for supplier personnel.

  • Share industry best practices from OEMs and global automotive leaders.

4. Use of Quality Tools & Techniques

  • Apply advanced quality tools including PFMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, QFD, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and Six Sigma.

  • Evaluate process capability, risk analysis, and data-driven decision-making.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams in Quality, Production, Supplier Development, and Engineering for coordinated quality assurance actions.

  • Report audit findings, track improvement timelines, and prepare final assessment reports.

6. Manufacturing Process Understanding

  • Sound understanding of automotive component manufacturing processes such as:

    • Stamping, Welding, Forging, Machining, Casting, Moulding, Heat Treatment, and Surface Treatment.


Technical & Functional Competencies

  • Strong command of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and documentation standards.

  • Experience as Internal Auditor or Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 / IATF 16949.

  • Hands-on exposure to statistical techniques (SPC, MSA) and quality tools (PFMEA, APQP, PPAP).

  • Excellent analytical skills with data-driven decision-making approach.

  • Awareness of the latest automotive quality innovations and global supplier management trends.


Candidate Profile

  • Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Experience: 2–7 years in automotive supplier quality audits, manufacturing quality, or QMS implementation.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and report documentation.

  • Willingness to travel to supplier locations for audits and follow-ups.
