Position: Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) Engineer / Senior Quality Engineer

- Lead overall Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) planning and daily monitoring.
- Conduct OQC inspection, ELT testing, product performance, and reliability validation.
- Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive strong Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Improve CTS & 3F trends and reduce recurring quality issues.
- Coordinate with Field QA teams, Spare Parts HUB, and Third-Party Inspectors.
- Manage calibration activities, product certification processes, and field feedback verification.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for product quality and customer satisfaction.

1. Can you explain your experience in Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA)?
Answer:
I have managed complete OQA processes including final product inspection, OQC checklist creation, ELT testing, reliability verification, and shipment release. I ensure that products meet CTS, regulatory, and performance standards before dispatch. I also coordinate with production, R&D, and Field QA to resolve deviations quickly.
2. What steps do you follow during OQC inspection?
Answer:
My OQC process typically includes:
Reviewing the control plan & standard inspection parameters
Conducting visual inspection
Functional testing (including ELT, temperature performance etc.)
Documentation in inspection reports
Blocking non-conforming units and raising NC reports
Ensuring CAPA closure before release
3. What is ELT Testing and why is it important?
Answer:
ELT (Endurance / Electrical Load Test) ensures electrical safety, wiring reliability, insulation strength, compressor load capability, and power consumption performance. It validates long-term durability and ensures the product can safely operate under rated loads.
4. How do you perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)?
Answer:
I use 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, and process mapping. I collect data, identify failure patterns, validate root causes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective CAPA. I also verify effectiveness through trend monitoring (3F/CTS).
5. What types of CAPA have you implemented in OQA?
Answer:
Some examples include: improving jig/fixture accuracy, updating inspection standards, modifying component tolerances, revising supplier quality requirements, and enhancing ELT test procedures. I ensure CAPA is measurable, time-bound, and validated.
6. How do you reduce recurring defects in the outgoing line?
Answer:
By analyzing defect trends (3F defects, DPPM, ELT failures), identifying weak process controls, improving operator training, tightening inspection parameters, and validating CAPA effectiveness. Data-driven actions are essential.
7. How familiar are you with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 standards?
Answer:
I have hands-on experience in maintaining and auditing these systems. I ensure process compliance, documentation, calibration records, risk assessments, environmental controls, and worker safety adherence.
8. What methods do you use for reliability testing?
Answer:
I have experience with:
Life-cycle testing
Environmental chamber tests
Compressor load tests
High–Low Voltage tests
Burn-in testing
Vibration and stress analysis
These help in predicting failure rates and improving long-term performance.
9. How do you coordinate with Field QA or service teams?
Answer:
I review field failure data, defect trends, and feedback reports. I recreate field issues in the lab, work with suppliers and design teams, and implement CAPA to prevent reoccurrence. I also track warranty cost impact.
10. How do you handle calibration and certification activities?
Answer:
I ensure all inspection and testing equipment is calibrated as per schedule, maintain calibration records, and audit tools for drift. I also support BIS, CE, and internal certification compliance.
11. Describe a major quality problem you solved.
Answer:
(Example) We faced recurring cooling performance failures in CR products. I led the RCA, identified refrigerant charge variation, improved charging equipment accuracy, updated SOPs, and validated the solution through a 500-unit reliability test. Field complaints dropped by 70%.
