Job Overview

Varroc is hiring an Engineer – Development Quality to support and strengthen New Product Development (NPD) activities in the automotive domain. This role is critical in ensuring product quality from the early design stage through validation and mass production. The position is open for Pune and Sambhajinagar locations and is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in automotive switches, electronics, and supplier quality management.

As an Engineer – Development Quality, you will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, validation, and supplier teams to ensure that quality is built into the product, not inspected at the end. Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance in New Product Development (NPD)
Ensure end-to-end quality assurance for 2W and 3W automotive switches, starting from concept design to production release. You will be responsible for identifying quality risks early and ensuring preventive controls are implemented.

2. DFM & DFT Reviews
Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) reviews to ensure the product design is robust, cost-effective, and easy to manufacture and test at scale.

3. Traction Motor Quality Support
Support quality activities related to traction motor systems, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and automotive quality norms.

4. Supplier Quality Management
Manage supplier quality for plastic and electrical components. This includes supplier audits, PPAP reviews, issue resolution, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

5. Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions
Lead and participate in structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using tools such as:

• 8D Problem Solving
• Ishikawa (Fishbone) Diagram
• 5 Why Analysis
  Ensure effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and sustained.

6. Quality Planning & Documentation
Develop and maintain:

• Quality plans
• Test and validation procedures
• Control plans
• Inspection standards and documentation
  Ensure all quality records are accurate, updated, and compliant with automotive standards.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, validation, and suppliers to resolve issues, improve product reliability, and achieve on-time project milestones.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering
• 3–8 years of experience in automotive development quality, preferably in switches or electronic components
• Electronics background is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of NPD quality tools and methodologies
• Experience in supplier quality and component validation
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
