The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all bought-out items, fabricated components, and static equipment comply with the required quality standards and project specifications. This includes hands-on inspection, documentation, QAP preparation, NDT coordination, and communication with customer representatives and TPIs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inward Inspection
- Inspect plates, pipes, tubes, forgings, fittings, BOIs, fabricated, and machined items.
- Verify material certificates, heat numbers, and compliance with QAP.
- Ensure material traceability as per project requirements.
2. In-Process & Final Inspection
- Conduct inspections on pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, columns, and structural items.
- Ensure adherence to approved QAP, drawings, WPS/WPQ, and standards.
- Prepare inspection reports and ensure closure of NCRs and deviations.
3. Documentation & Procedures
- Prepare QAP (Quality Assurance Plan).
- Draft NDT procedures, hydro test procedures, painting procedures, and weld plans.
- Prepare WPS/PQR/WPQ and welder qualification documentation.
4. Code & Standards Compliance
- Awareness and working knowledge of ASME SEC VIII Div 1 & 2, IBR, and ASME SEC IIA/IIB/IIC & SEC IX.
- Ensure compliance of fabrication processes and inspection stages with relevant codes.
5. TPIA & Customer Coordination
- Offer inspections as per QAP and project hold points.
- Ensure that inspections are completed to the satisfaction of TPIA.
- Obtain release notes and maintain communication with customer quality representatives.
6. General QA/QC Activities
- Maintain calibration records of inspection instruments.
- Support audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Ensure proper welding quality, surface preparation, painting, and testing.
Eligibility Criteria
- 3–7 years of experience in QA/QC in fabrication, pressure vessels, piping, or mechanical industry.
- Strong understanding of static equipment and quality procedures.
- Good communication skills for interaction with clients, TPIs, and internal teams.
