Position Overview: Sr. Manager / Manager – Supplier Quality Assurance (Mechanical)

In this role, you will lead the Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) function, ensuring that every component sourced from suppliers meets the stringent quality and performance standards required for Matter’s electric vehicles. You will work closely with design, manufacturing, and supplier development teams to drive quality improvement, process reliability, and supplier excellence across all mechanical commodity categories.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and process validations to ensure compliance with ISO/IATF 16949 and company standards.
✅ Lead PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), DFMEA, and DFX reviews for all new and existing suppliers.
✅ Manage supplier quality performance metrics — defect rate, PPM levels, and delivery quality.
✅ Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in coordination with suppliers.
✅ Oversee machining, casting, forging, sheet metal, and polymer component quality assurance processes.
✅ Collaborate with supplier development and purchase teams for part approval, line audits, and process control improvements.
✅ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier capability and reduce rejections.
✅ Analyze field and in-plant quality issues, root cause analysis, and implementation of sustainable solutions.
✅ Maintain robust documentation and compliance with QMS (Quality Management System) requirements.
✅ Ensure defect prevention through design for manufacturability (DFM) and proactive quality planning.

Requirements

🎓 Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
💼 Experience: 10–15 years in automotive (2W/4W) supplier quality assurance or mechanical quality.
🧠 Core Expertise:

• Quality management in Machining, Casting, Forging, Sheet Metal & Polymer components.

• Strong knowledge of PPAP, DFMEA, DFX, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem-solving techniques.

• Experience with QMS (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949) audits and supplier qualification processes.

• Hands-on experience in defect prevention, root cause analysis, and process control.
  💻 Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and documentation systems.
