🔧 Position – Machining Engineer / Specialist (Gear Manufacturing)

Education Qualification

✔ B.Tech / B.E – Mechanical Engineering
✔ Gear Manufacturing / Machining specialization preferred

Experience Required

✔ 3 to 12 Years (Preferably in Machining / Gear Manufacturing / CNC Shop / OEM / Tier-1)

📌 Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Gear Manufacturing – Process & Quality Excellence

• Troubleshooting process issues and quality problems in gear machining and finishing operations.

• Strong awareness of Gear Manufacturing Processes, micro geometry controls, cutting tools, and modern machining technology.

• Identification of defects related to noise, wear, lead, profile errors, and surface finish.

• Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring failures.

2️⃣ Zero Rejection & Continuous Improvement

• Implementing a Zero Rejection System and monitoring rejection trends.

• Drive Tool Cost, Fixture Optimization, FOS cost reduction, and machine utilization improvement.

• Generate and execute Improvement Ideas, Kaizens, and SMED implementations.

• Handle cutting tool management, vendor interfaces, and new tool trials.

3️⃣ Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with CFT and support functions to resolve production concerns.

• Ensure strong communication between machining, tool room, maintenance, and QA teams.

4️⃣ Quality Systems & Process Controls

• Knowledge and implementation experience of SPC, MSA, PFMEA, Quality Audits, DOE, QC story & PDCA.

• Strong fundamentals in gear inspection parameters, micro geometry control, and measurement systems.

• Apply TPM, 5S implementation, Daily Work Management (DWM) to improve shop floor discipline and productivity.

• Awareness of IMS, DCP (Defect Control Plan) and compliance with quality and EHS standards.

5️⃣ Productivity, OEE & OLE Monitoring

• Achieve higher equipment utilization and productivity through OEE and OLE improvement frameworks.

• Drive safe working culture and ensure compliance to standards and procedures.

6️⃣ Leadership & Shop Floor People Management

• Exposure to people handling, conflict resolution, IR basics, manpower management is preferred.

• Ability to build culture of discipline, accountability, and safety among workforce.
