Lucas TVS, a leading player in the automotive industry, is hiring for the role of Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Process Planning at its Chennai facility. The role focuses on plant setup, equipment commissioning, and process planning to support new product introductions and efficient manufacturing operations.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- 5 to 9 years of hands-on experience in process planning, plant setup, or manufacturing engineering.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and coordinate installation and commissioning of plant machinery and equipment.
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities using DFM/DFA principles.
- Drive APQP processes for smooth and successful product launches.
- Supervise tool and fixture design based on production requirements.
- Prepare and maintain essential documents such as flow charts, QCPC, and PFMEA (AIAG & VDA).
- Improve plant layout, machine utilization, and workflow strategies.
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams for equipment procurement and validation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to machinery, layout, and processes.
- Mentor junior engineers in process planning and plant setup best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Motor Assembly, BLDC, and Induction Motor – Stator Winding.
- Strong knowledge of CAD tools and process simulation software.
