Matter Motors
Matter Motors Hiring – Supplier Quality Engineer (Plastics & Polymers) | Ahmedabad
The electric vehicle industry in India is growing rapidly, and with that growth comes the need for strong supplier quality professionals who can ensure reliable parts, robust processes, and defect-free deliveries. Matter EV, a fast-emerging name in the Indian EV ecosystem, is hiring passionate professionals for the role of Supplier Quality – Plastics & Polymers at its location in Changodar, Ahmedabad.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working closely with suppliers, love solving real manufacturing problems, and want to be part of the future of mobility. If you have hands-on experience in plastic and polymer components, supplier development, and quality improvement initiatives, this opportunity can offer strong career growth.
About the Role – Supplier Quality (Plastics & Polymers)
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that plastic and polymer components sourced from suppliers meet Matter EV’s quality, reliability, and performance expectations. You will work directly with supplier partners, manufacturing teams, and design engineers to improve processes and ensure that defects are eliminated at the source.
Instead of only checking parts at incoming inspection, this role focuses on building supplier capability, strengthening systems, and preventing recurring issues. You will play a key role in new product development, localization, and continuous improvement activities.
Experience & Background Required
This position is suited for professionals with:
- Experience: 3–6 years
- Industry: Electric Vehicles (EV), Automotive, Auto Components, or related manufacturing
- Domain: Plastics, polymers, moulded components, injection moulding suppliers, or plastic assemblies
Candidates with hands-on exposure to supplier quality or plastic part quality will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
The major responsibilities in this role include:
- working with suppliers manufacturing plastic and polymer components
- ensuring suppliers meet quality and process requirements
- reviewing PPAP and APQP documentation
- conducting supplier audits, process reviews, and capability studies
- resolving quality issues using structured problem-solving methods
- ensuring defects are prevented at source instead of being detected later
- supporting localization of plastic components where required
- coordinating with design, purchasing, and production teams
You will act as the bridge between supplier manufacturing processes and Matter EV product quality, ensuring reliability and consistency.
Skills and Competencies Required
The right candidate should have strong technical understanding as well as people-handling skills. Important competencies include:
- knowledge of plastic and polymer components
- understanding of injection moulding processes
- experience in supplier quality or supplier development
- PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and MSA understanding
- capability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- experience in inspection methods and measuring instruments
- ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- strong communication and coordination skills
Professionals who enjoy traveling to supplier locations, interacting with vendor teams, and solving real-time production challenges will thrive in this role.
Why This Role Matters
In an EV company, plastic components play a significant role in:
- interior and exterior trims

Poor-quality components can lead to failures, safety issues, customer dissatisfaction, and high warranty costs. The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures quality is built into the product right from the supplier’s shop floor. You will directly contribute to:
- improved vehicle reliability
- reduced defects
- better customer experience
- cost savings through rework and scrap reduction
- stronger supplier partnerships
Your work will have a visible impact on product performance and brand trust.
Who Will Be a Good Fit?
You will be an excellent match for this opportunity if:

- you believe in “do it right the first time”
- you like visiting supplier plants and understanding real processes
- you have patience and a detail-oriented approach
- you want to work in a fast-growing EV environment
- you are proactive, responsible, and focused on improvement
