Job Overview – Buyer (Purchase)

The Buyer – Purchase role is a mid-level procurement position responsible for managing end-to-end sourcing activities, supplier cost control, purchase order management, and coordination with engineering and aftersales teams. The buyer acts as a single point of contact for allocated suppliers and ensures business continuity through proactive risk identification and resolution.

Roles & Responsibilities – Buyer (Purchase)

1. Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Manage RFI and RFQ processes for automotive parts and investments
• Release Part Purchase Orders and Investment Purchase Orders
• Ensure FIAPL books capitalization for tooling and investments
• Act as the main buyer for the allocated supplier group

2. Cost Management & Commercial Control

• Manage cost targets for assigned commodity or supplier group

• Control prices and ensure buying within approved targets

• Provide budget management inputs and cost breakdown analysis

• Support value creation through VA-VE initiatives

3. Purchase Planning & MIS

• Plan purchasing activities at a detailed micro level

• Maintain part-wise and supplier-wise MIS

• Ensure timely updates to internal stakeholders for decision-making

4. Documentation & Process Compliance

• Raise, update, and maintain relevant purchase documents

• Ensure accuracy of Supplier Purchase Orders (POs)

• Support audits and internal compliance requirements

5. Engineering & Change Management Support
