This role is crucial for ensuring that sheet metal bought-out parts received from suppliers meet JBM Group’s quality standards before they are released for production.
Role & Responsibilities – Bought Out Parts Quality (Sheet Metal)
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the quality of externally sourced sheet metal components. The role requires strong coordination with suppliers, internal quality teams, and production departments.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Monitoring and controlling the quality of bought-out sheet metal parts received from suppliers
- Conducting incoming inspections as per approved drawings, control plans, and specifications
- Verifying dimensional accuracy, surface finish, welding quality, and fitment of sheet metal parts
- Handling supplier quality issues, deviations, and non-conformities
- Coordinating with suppliers for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Supporting supplier audits and process evaluations
- Ensuring implementation of quality standards such as PPAP, APQP, and control plans
- Maintaining inspection records, reports, and quality documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce supplier defects
Coordinating with production teams to resolve quality-related stoppages
This position requires a strong understanding of sheet metal processes and supplier quality management systems.
Required Technical Skills & Knowledge
Candidates applying for this role should possess hands-on experience and technical competence in the following areas:
- Sheet metal components used in automotive applications
- Incoming quality inspection and supplier quality assurance
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
- Knowledge of welding, bending, forming, and stamping processes
- Familiarity with automotive quality tools and methodologies
- Experience in defect analysis and root cause identification
- Understanding of quality standards followed by automotive OEMs
Experience in handling Tier-1 or Tier-2 automotive suppliers will be considered an added advantage.
Educational Qualification

- Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Automobile / Production)
OR - Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)
Candidates must have relevant experience aligned with bought-out parts quality in the sheet metal category.

- Total Experience: 5 to 6 Years
- Must have prior experience in supplier quality or incoming quality
- Automotive manufacturing background is preferred
